Something about this song combined with the music video caught my eye -> sparse, white, neon, African, tribal, sinister, techno, space ships.
It makes me want more.
Is Kanye’s “Love Lockdown” classifyable as Hip Hop (I think not)?

Intro: Cruel Summer
The Cruel Summer issue brings you all the latest bodyboarding action from SA and around the world all packed into one colourful package with cheesy 80′s music overtones.
We kick it off with coverage of SA’s first carbon neutral music festival, Rocking the Daisies. We then delve into the brain of former south coast resident, Darren Halse, who is currently chasing precious World Tour points while holding down a full time job in dreary ol’ England. We keep up with our regular fitness instalment that should have you ripping whenever the occasional swell comes our way this summer. We also managed to track down Colin Van Dongen for our Create section where we quiz him on his new DVD series, Don’t Stop Dreaming. Then just in time for Christmas we profile the latest and greatest boards from the top guys in the business so you know exactly what Santa needs to drop in your stocking this year.
This is all neatly wrapped into what my art director describes as ‘vomit inducing colour’. So grab a copy and enjoy.
Enjoy! ed. [Ian Kruger]
This Issue (issue 06) was designed with love and care and is my favorite issue to date (I am never 100% satisfied with my own work). The reason I have it posted here is because I sent Issue 8 to the printers last week. Ian Kruger (Editor) will be cracking the whip and the mag will be in your grubby hands (hopefully) soon. With issue 8 (spanning some additional changes that will only be applied in issue 9) comes some changes to the general design approach. More on that later, no spoiler here.
Enjoy the online version, Issue 7 will be posted online as soon as Issue 8 hits the streets.
A few months ago I designed a logo for my good friend and pro Bodyboarder, Sacha “Spex” Specker. His signature series of bodyboards have been available since December (08). I was finally sent one today thanks to my hombres at Factory7.co.za / Nomad South Africa. Thanks guys, I cant wait to give it a whirl.
